WHY?

Do you ever look at people and wonder what's their "why?"

Why they do the things that they do? It's something I am always curious about.

One day it hit me like a ton of bricks, I was the only thing that was holding myself back. Self Awareness is key and when I didn't have it, I was wasting time on dumb shit. Like needing to disappear from social media for a couple of days because someone's words "hurt me." I wanted to know why?

Before I could better understand other people's "why," I needed to master my own.

It's when I began using the "why?" questions to dig deeper.

For example:

"Why does it bother me that this person is saying this?"

"Because it's rude."

"But Why does it bother you?"

"They took the time out of their day to say something rude."

"Why does it bother you that they made time for you? Whether it's negative or positive?"

"Because it hurts my feelings."

"Why? Because it's true?"

"Yes. I am still overweight."

"Ok, let's make a plan to change it then."

Boom, I don't dwell on it, I get to the root of it, I solve it, then I move on.

If I start to let something get to me, I go through this process each time. Instead of getting upset, anxious or angry, I dig deeper. Find out WHY it hurts my feelings.

Heres one of my new mottos:

"If you believe there is truth in what someone is saying about you, then make a plan to change, if you don't like it. If what they are saying isn't true, be confident in who you are. Don't cower, keep moving."

Please don't allow hurt people, to hurt you. Understand where their negativity is coming from and stand on higher ground, lift them up as well, if you have enough strength. But please, never, ever, let someone's actions or words towards you make you question your worth! You're amazing, I hope you see, know, and feel that!
